Dear Jasper, congratulations! You have won first prize in a design innovation competition. Your prize is a 3 week stay on an island retreat. You will be the only inhabitant, pack your bag and prepare to depart. You’ll need to think carefully about what to take with you, definitely no need for a suit & tie, you should feel well at home! Enjoy..... |
So, the island belongs to you during your stay, what name would you give it? |
| The island will be called Majika, as I'm expecting it to be a magical place. |

| You’re allowed to take a picnic hamper with you what food goodies would you fill it with? |
To start with I would need a large case of pre-chilled Budweiser, essential after a long journey. I would also take all the ingredients I need to make Fajitas, chicken, fillet steak, King Prawns (although I may be able to catch these locally), onions, peppers, chilli, garlic, spices & tortillas etc. Also everything I need for Margarita's. Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila, Cointreau & Limes. Also some tortilla chips and spicy dip. Then to finish off, a couple of Bounty Bars and Christmas Cake. |

| You're allowed one electrical household item – what would it be? |
That would have to be my Electric Toothbrush, presuming that something will be supplied to play the music & DVD? |
| You won’t need to take lots of clothes with you as the uniform is strictly shorts & t-shirts which are provided for you, but you can take one special piece of clothing – name it? |
| A hat - can't let my head get burnt! |

| To while away the time, you can take one luxury item or accessory with you – what would you take? |
| I would take a large painting set. Brushes, paint, watercolours & acrylics, canvases and paper along with an easel. It's going to be an inspirational place, so it would be a great opportunity to experiment. |
| You’re allowed to take one fun item of your choice – what would it be? |
I think that's going to be my Cocktail kit which includes the shaker, the measure, the lime squeezer and a salt cellar. All the essential items to make margaritas just in case I have any visitors coming to "Majika". |
| What book would you take to read? |
| I don't really read books, so it would have to be one with lots of pictures and also educational so I think I'll take Around the World in 80 days - Michael Palin. |
| You’re allowed to take one album with you to listen to – which would it be? |
| I would take The Beatles Box set. It has 13 albums and would keep me entertained for a long time. As well as all the familiar anthems there would also be a great deal of music that I haven't heard, making it a great combination. |
| You’re also allowed to take one additional track with you – which one? |
| Chasing cars by Snow Patrol - a fantastic song which holds a great deal of memories! |
| You can choose to take a Film/DVD with you - what would you take? |
I would take Planet Earth by David Attenborough; I think 10 hours of TV will be plenty! |
You’re also allowed to smuggle in a famous guest for a couple of days – who would it be and why? |
My guest would be Flavia Cacace. She can then teach me how to do the Argentine Tango & Salsa. She'd like my Margaritas, she wears a bikini very nicely and I wouldn't have any problems sharing my Bounty Bar with her! |
Your 3 week trip is now over and you are travelling back to Norton Bavant, what is the first thing you will do when you arrive home? |
After spending a lot of time telling Angela what I got up to while I was away, and checking up on Dillon I would have a wander around the garden and see what's grown! |
