So, Jasper, Juice Factory is launching it’s brand new website how is it different to the previous version? |
We wanted to have a bit of fun with the new website making it juicier than before. Its bolder & brighter, examples are clearer and easier to read, it’s shorter and more compact. People prefer looking at images rather than reading an excessive amount of text so the new website takes that into account. The last one was good but this one is so much better. Take a look www.juice-factory.co.uk. |

So what exactly does your company do? |
We design & produce a wide range of marketing material which includes website design & development, email marketing, brochures, branding and advertising. We work for a diverse array of clients ranging from multi-nationals to independent start-ups. |
| "...99% of customers keep coming back for more..." |
How long have you been in the creative business and where did it all start? |
Well, if we go back to the beginning, I’d have to say it all began with my Grandfather who was an Architect back in the early 1900’s he was responsible for designing a very well known building in Liverpool. My father was an Animator in the 1960’s and made a lot of Public Information films such as “Keep Britain Tidy” and “Follow the Country Code”. Other members of the family include Industrial and Furniture designers, so you could say that a passion for design is in my blood.
After Art School where I studied Graphic Design, my agency experience was mainly branding & packaging design. I don’t want to talk too much about my agency days as I’d rather talk about Juice Factory but in a nutshell - with the advent of the internet in the late 90’s a lot of the work I was doing for Global Brands translated very nicely into intranet pages. Eventually I got tired of working for other people and in 2001 I made an inspired decision to set up my own Company. |
Right now, what do your clients ask you for help with most? |
| All of our clients are very different and they all have individual requirements. One day I might be talking to a company about creating a new website and the next day another client wants a 64 page brochure. The most common element about our clients is that they all need help with marketing their business, whether it be advertising, branding or email marketing. |
| What changes have you seen in the marketing & design sector over the last few years? |
Companies are more considered nowadays as to how they spend their marketing budget. I think this makes for a better end result as they are no longer prepared to follow the scatter gun approach preferring a more targeted method which can be more measurable. Seeing a return on their investment helps them understand and plan for the next stage of development. |
| |
What elements are companies more willing to spend their budget on? |
It has to be the very visible elements, their website, company brochures and branding there is so much competition out there and everyone wants to be seen as being the best in their field. To be successful, companies need to raise their brand awareness to promote their businesses effectively; once again that’s where we come in... |
| "...you know what, we're really good at what we do..." |
So, how do you see Juice Factory’s client base expanding in the future? |
The marketplace is still growing and nowadays you don’t have to actually physically meet your client to do business with them. We have recently been talking to a possible client in Australia who found Juice Factory; they saw one of our websites and really liked it and got in touch. |
What’s the best thing about your customers? |
99% keep coming back for more....which proves they are intelligent, and recognise a good thing when they see it. |
So why do they keep returning? |
We have built up a very good reputation with our clients and I think they return because of the personal service that we offer. We go that extra mile for them, and do everything we can to make sure that the end result exceeds their expectations. We offer all the benefits of a large agency but with none of the pitfalls. We like to get to know our clients, how their businesses work and… you know what, we’re really good at what we do. That’s why they keep coming back for more. |
| "..design needs to be memorable for all the right reasons!" |
What irritates you most in today’s market? |
I despair at the amount of really bad design that’s out there at the moment – especially DIY websites! I meet people all the time who are experts in their own field but for some reason they think they can be a designer too; the difference between good design & bad design is that only one of those will have a positive impact on the business. Design needs to be memorable and for all the right reasons! |
| And finally, how do you see Juice Factory's future? |
| Even juicier and brighter than it was before! |
