Welcome to Norton Bavant

In the heart of the Wylye Valley

Norton Bavant Village, Wiltshire

Norton Bavant is situated at the western end of the beautiful Wylye valley in Wiltshire a couple of miles east of Warminster. The village lies close to the river Wylye overlooked by the hills of Scratchbury and Cotley, both over 190 metres above sea level.

The village of Norton Bavant extends northwards beyond these hills encompassing two outlying farms and extending onto Salisbury Plain. It is located 19 miles from the Roman city of Bath and twenty miles from the medieval city of Salisbury.

Barley has been sown in the fields around the village which means we will be surrounded by Fields of Gold all summer like last year.

Some photos are taken by Norton Bavant villagers and are credited where possible.

Headline News

Prince Philip – There is now a Book of Condolence in the Church for everyone to write in, if you wish. You can also spend some time thinking of Prince Philip in peace and quiet. The Church will remain unlocked 24/7. The lights will come on when you enter and will switch themselves off as they are on a timer.

We will be holding a short Memorial Service on Friday 16th, this coming Friday, at 6.00 pm in Codford St Peter Church. On the eve of his funeral, you are welcome to come and join in thanksgiving for his life, and in prayer for The Queen and the Royal Family.

Here is your invitation to a Zoom Church Service on Sunday, 18th April at 10:45am for 11:00am, we do hope you can join us.
